Meet Don. In 2011 he spent 2-months in a coma. He was not supposed to survive. He surprised everyone and made it back to this world. Losing all of his memory as well as his motor skills, he spent eleven months recovering. Since 2012 he has been experiencing senior community living in San Diego County. Sharing his life with others has given Don a caring insight into what contributes to a senior’s sense of wellness and happiness.
He doesn’t pretend to have more wisdom than anyone else. However, he does know that his years living with other seniors and knowing their families has given him what may be a unique and very personal understanding of what truly brings JOY to seniors of any age.
To that end Don created Joys of Life™ Staying Well Programs and has been presenting them to the residents of senior living communities for the last 7 years. Often personally making the presentations, by last count there have been over 18,000 attendees of his programs in a number of different communities throughout the United States.
“I found my purpose in life when I moved to a senior living community,” shares Don. “Doing the best I can to make people happy and contribute to their lives by giving them something to look forward to and to participate in is one of the reasons I am alive today. This program lets me bring The Joys of Life to others across the United States.”
